Apple Music Won't Play Explicit Versions of Songs where Clean Version Previously Purchased
When I first started using iPhone (2012), I listened to music by purchasing it through iTunes. At first, I would only purchase the clean versions of songs. I eventually stopped purchasing only clean music, and eventually started using Apple Music to stream music instead of purchasing via iTunes as soon as it became available. However, for many many years, I have had an issue where sometimes (but not all the time), I cannot get Apple Music to play the explicit version of a song I had previously purchased as a clean version. Here are some additional, important details:
- No, I do not have content restrictions turned on, and they have never been turned on at any time.
- I have turned Dolby Atmos off.
- This happens regardless of whether or not the song is downloaded to a device versus being streamed from the cloud.
- This has happened when, for example, I am listening to an Apple-curated playlist with explicit songs on it, and those I have never purchased will play as expected but those I had previously purchased would play the clean version instead.
- This has happened when, for example, I would go to an artist's page, click on the album I want (explicit version), and click on an explicit song with the E next to it and everything, and instead the clean version would play (with associated clean album art, if applicable).
Like I said, this has been going on for many years, across many different iPhones/iPads/MacBooks, across many different versions of iOS/iPadOS/macOS.
Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to fix this issue, or if there is any way to completely wipe a previous purchase from my account.
Thanks in advance for your help!
