Hi kchiles,

To clarify is your iPhone fully updated? While new, it may still require an iOS update that could address this issue.

If the issue persists, we'd also recommend checking for a carrier settings update under Settings > General > About. If you have one to install, it will pop up a prompt there.

Finally, if the issue still persists, if you have headphones with a microphone or can immediately put the call on speakerphone, are you heard then?

Let use know and we'll follow up from there.

Cheers!

If you are experiencing issues with your new iPhone 14 where callers cannot hear you or the volume is low for the first 15 seconds of a call, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Check Microphone and Speaker: Ensure that the microphone and speaker of your iPhone 14 are not blocked or obstructed by any debris or accessories. Clean the microphone and speaker area gently using a soft, dry cloth.
  2. Remove Protective Case: If you are using a protective case on your iPhone 14, try removing it and make a test call to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, certain cases can interfere with the microphone or speaker and affect call quality.
  3. Restart Your iPhone: Perform a restart of your iPhone 14 by turning it off and then back on. This can help resolve temporary software glitches that may be causing the issue.
  4. Update iOS: Check if there are any available software updates for your iPhone 14 and ensure that you are running the latest version of iOS. Software updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can address known issues.
  5. Reset Network Settings: Resetting the network settings on your iPhone can sometimes resolve connectivity-related issues. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note that this will remove saved Wi-Fi networks and passwords, so you'll need to reconnect to Wi-Fi networks afterward.
  6. Reset All Settings: If the issue persists, you can try resetting all settings on your iPhone 14. This will not erase your data, but it will reset settings like network settings, display settings, and sound settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
  7. Contact Apple Support: If the problem continues after trying the above steps, it's recommended to reach out to Apple Support for further assistance. They can provide specific troubleshooting steps or advise if there may be a hardware issue with your iPhone 14 that requires further attention.

Remember to backup your important data before performing any reset or restore procedures on your iPhone. Apple Support can guide you through the troubleshooting process and provide more specific instructions based on the details of your issue.
