Apple Cash no longer working for son's Apple Watch (Set up in family setup)

After much searching, my son figured out you have to have your watch passcode on to enable cards in Apple Cash. It only tells you this when you turn off the passcode feature

Make sure the Watch is updated to latest Watch OS and then do a forced restart of the Watch. Support articles are linked below.

If that doesn’t work, unpair the Watch from your iPhone and then pair the devices again.

When the Watch is unpaired and the paired again, it may take a day or two for all the information to resync.

Please confirm what Series Apple Watch your son has and what Watch OS is installed on his watch.

No, it didn't resolve it for me. It does work now though and I'm not sure why. My son wore his watch out and about the next day and came back and said it was working. I have no clue what happened but it's good now.

Can you access his Watch via the Watch App on your iPhone?

I'm having the exact same problem. I can access his Watch via the Watch App on my phone. There's just no way to "Remove this card and try adding it again". How would I go about doing that?
