iPhone 13 screen rotates when locked

Contact the Developer:

If you are having issues with a game, then contact the app's Developer. You'll find their Contact Us info in the app's site of the App Store. Perhaps it is a glitch on the Developer's end, and they have yet to make a fix for it.

Some games are designed to work only landscape or protein mode. It's the way the developer has developed the app.

Yes, this is a behavior which came up with iOS 16 and it is still not fixed in the iOS 17.1 betas. - I created a few threads on Reddit about it, and I filed iOS feedbacks to Apple. - Apple changed one of my feedbacks to "potential fix identified, for a future OS update" just recently, so, maybe it'll get fixed at one point.

Do your Part: Being of no option, let apple know that you want this to be added back. Apple wont get back to you directly, but the more they hear of this, the more they will know what their customers prefer and what features need to be added.

1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
2. Select: "Feature Request" for the "FeedbackType"
3. Comment: On why you think this should be included, and how you think it should be accessible.
4. Proceed from there as necessary

Yes, I filed it several times through the iOS Feedback app. One of my feedbacks recently changed its status to "potential fix identified, for a future OS update". So, fingers crossed that we see a fix sometime soon.

Oh, this issue is about playing with rotation lock on and not about the issue of screen lock not locking the rotation anymore (which it did up to iOS 15). - Still it's related to the mess that Apple has unfortunately created in iOS 16 regarding screen rotation. :-/
