Past weather lookup function

Since Dark Sky took over the weather app and had to close down its own app they used to have a “Time Machine” to look back at previous weather. Why did that not transfer over? I get apple has a back up called Time Machine why not just rename it “Time Skip” or something?

Apple bought Dark Sky, shut down their app, and implemented its API code into the weather kit API … so technically yes Dark Sky is the Weather app since iOS 16 but for some reason they chose not to include the historical function of the API, which could historically search back decades and make haphazard predictions months into the future.

I appreciate the input. I downloaded it and checked it out just not what I’m personally looking for. Even if I paid the recurring premium fee it won’t show me decades of historical data which is what I liked about dark sky having all that information all in one convenient location in comparison to present day forecasts. I know I can track down that data as they were pulling it from some database, but they put it at the finger tips. Who knows maybe I’ll take some app coding courses and figure out how to make my own app 😄. I suppose that’s a better attitude than moping about what’s been lost.
