System Data taking over

I have an iPhone X with 64GB of storage. What can I do to fix the continued expansion of "System Data". I recently deleted a ton of photos and unused apps for more storage space, I had about 59GB of storage used. System Data has since started filling that space up, I delete more apps, and system data immediately fills up the freed space. I now have full storage and no way to free up more, as system data will fill the empty space.

Hello apersonwholovesastronomy,

We would recommend starting by confirming iOS is up to date. Just as a reminder, here are the steps for updating wirelessly. Different ways to update can also be found at: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support:

Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.

2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.

3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.

4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.

5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

Be sure to follow the instructions on how to make a backup of your data before updating.

If the iPhone has been recently updated, then connect the iPhone to Wi-Fi for at least 48 to 72 hours. If the issue remains, we would reach out to Apple Support: Get Support

Have a good day.
