Mobile error

I receive a mobile error in settings whenever an iOS update is received but cannot update either automatically nor manually. I have to reset the phone to clear the mobile error. How do I resolve this issue?

What is the exact wording of this “Mobile error”?

Make sure that your iPhone is setup to meet the following requirements before you attempt to update the iOS version over a Wi-Fi Network. Open Settings ➡️ General ➡️ Software Update: If there is an update available for your iPhone then it will be listed here. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and update your iPhone.

  • Your iPhone must have a fast Wi-Fi connection; you cannot update over cellular data or a cellular hotspot
  • The iPhone can not be in Low Power mode
  • The battery state of charge must be above 50%
  • Your iPhone must have at least 8GB or more free storage space
  • Your iPhone cannot be connected through VPN
  • You should leave the phone plugged in until it finishes updating, both to assure that it remains above 50% and to keep Wi-Fi enabled (Wi-Fi turns off when the phone sleeps if not connected to power).

Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).

After a successful completion of the action shown above, try updating the iPhone again.

Thank you Axel. The mobile error appears in my settings and directs me to update my latest iOS in order to make and receive calls and messages. When I try to install the update, a get the “verifying” message which continues until I’m told that I have no internet connection yet I am connected. I cannot return to settings and am stuck on this screen. The only option is to reset the phone.
