Yes, Keychain a quite capable, and highly secure password manager - and TOTP Authenticator - which is tightly integrated into Apple’s ecosystem.

It’s utility might continue to grow as Passkeys become more mainstream.

What REALLY matters is that you ARE using a password manager.

Hello Atom1222,

Yes it is secure and private. It allows you to secure stronger password, meaning your accounts or more secure. You only need to remember your Apple ID password and device passcodes. Whenever using your Apple devices, your account credentials can automatically be filled in securely and privately. You never have to type your email or password out again 🙂

If you wan to be even more secure (and the website supports it) you can add verifications codes (commonly referred to as 2FA and MFA) that will also be autofilled when it is asked for.

Keychain does not currently provide the capability to manage ALL of the info I desire in a password manager.

Because of this, I use a separate, stand-alone, and quite robust “master” Password Manager to keep track of all my credentials and associated supporting info.

… I then import into Keychain ONLY those data elements which benefit the tight Apple integration.
