Earbuds not connecting

I can’t get my galaxy earbuds to connect to my MacBook Pro. I click on Bluetooth but they don’t connect. My phone’s Bluetooth is off.

Hi treather,

For Bluetooth connection to an accessory to be established, the accessory must be placed in pairing mode. The specific steps can vary by device. The page How to connect your Galaxy Buds offers these steps:

  1. "Place your earbuds in the charging case, and then close the lid. Wait 5-6 seconds, and then open the case.
  2. The earbuds will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode.
  3. If they are already paired to another device, insert them into your ears and hold both touchpads for a few seconds until they enter pairing mode.
  4. Follow your device manufacturer's instructions to pair the Galaxy Buds."

For a MacBook Pro, those instructions are found in Connect a Bluetooth device with your Mac:

"Connect a Bluetooth device

  1. Make sure the device is turned on and discoverable (see the device’s documentation for details).
  2. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Bluetooth  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  3. Hold the pointer over the device in the list, then click Connect.

If asked, click Accept (or enter a series of numbers, then press Enter)."

Regards.
