I am unable to add an AirTag to my iPhone. Battery is fresh. Please help.

Again, a reset is NOT sufficient … it needs to be removed from an account before it can be paired.

Gotcha.
The fol procedure might help (it can’t hurt).
Perform a power-off restart of your phone.
Try to pair. If it doesn’t work ..
Sign your phone “out” of iCloud … and then back “in.”
Try to pair.
Only the most obvious … are the batteries “good” and NOT bitterant-coated ?
The tag should “beep” when the cover is initially attached.
If this is a possibly a “used” AirTag, it needs to be removed from the previous owner’s acvount.
Simply “resetting” an AirTag is not sufficient.

It is my sane iCloud. I removed it from my iPhone successfully. I no longer see in find my items. I would like to add it back I am unable to do so.
Ok tried that. No luck
