It sounds like when you attempt to open the Messages app on your iPad the app is immediately closing. If that is not what you mean by "if I tap it back automatically" and "if I open it back automatically" then additional information on what you're experiencing will be necessary for relevant suggestions to be made.

If this occurs only with a single app, check your Screen Time settings to see if there are restrictions in place or App Limits which may be preventing the use of the app in question.
