Without activating the stage manager, it works well to double click the window bar to minimize them to dock, but when I activate the stage manager, this function is gone. Does anyone know how to properly set it up so that the double clicking also works during stage manager?

You'd do well to check out BetterTouchTool... You can reassign all the default actions of clicking windows on their red, green, and yellow buttons. Amongst a TON of other functionality!

That contradicts the behavior of Stage Manager. When you double-click the window bar, it minimizes the app to a thumbnail. on the left. It is properly set up.
If you want apps to minimize into the Dock, You have to disable Stage Manager.
Oh, thanks! This makes sense. Is there a set of buttons that I can press along with double-clicking to direct it to the dock?
