What would cause Instagram, Facebook and Google to mistake my iPhone 11 for a Mac computer? I’ve gotten notifications from all 3 at various times warning that I’ve logged in from a device I don’t normally use. I’ve had this phone for 4 months and have logged into all 3 of these apps or sites multiple times.

If you encounter any challenges with third-party applications or a particular website, I recommend reaching out directly to the respective app developer or site publisher/host for further assistance. Here is how

Instagram is not an Apple Product. Contact the app developer here --> App Support  or Instagram Help Center

Facebook is not an Apple product. Contact the app developer here --> App Support or Facebook Help Center | Facebook

Google is not an Apple product. Contact the app developer here --> App Support or Google Support

Instagram, Facebook, and Google continuously update their platforms and user interfaces to optimize the experience across different devices. It's possible that a recent update to the platforms' user interface inadvertently caused your iPhone 11 to be classified as a Mac due to a design or compatibility oversight.

  • Check the device name in your phone's settings to make sure it is not something that could be mistaken for a Mac.
  • Update your iPhone's software to the latest version.
  • Clear the cache and data for the apps that are misidentifying your iPhone.
  • Report the issue to the app developers.
