Iphone 14 Pro

Why is the iPhone 14 Pro battery performance so poor.

Prior to this I had a iPhone 12 Pro that was down to 85% on battery state and I was having to recharge in the evening.

I now find my new phone has the same level of battery performance.

Yes I I've switched off the always on feature, screen brightness was already low and 5G is now switched off as well as clearing down all background apps and it makes no difference.

It seems ridiculous that I have to shut down all new functionality in an attempt to make the phone last all day.

I'd be better off if I ditched my new phone and bought a second hand iPhone 12 Pro with a replacement battery.

I can't believe that I can play videos for 23hrs on the iPhone 14 if I can't view the Guardian, Safari and Facebook without causing a massive drain on my phone over the day.

It doesn’t appear to be related to the update, but I did the following I backed up the phone.

made sure that my data was synced to the cloud, then completely wiped the phone and manually reinstalled all my apps again. It took some time but the end result is that the phone has gone from going flat by 6 in the evening to still running at 75% by 6 in the evening.

Really pleased with the end result, plus it cleared out a lot of apps I didn’t really need too.

points to note.

1) I lost my messages so, find a way to back those up.

2) take screen shots to remember all the apps you originally had installed.

3) do this when you have plenty of time , because it takes a while to reinstall and setup all the apps from scratch

Same issue with my device too. Are you facing this issue after updating to 16.5.0 or above?

In just 2 months, battery health has dropped to 98% and my usage is similar to yours, just the normal stuff and no heavy/resource hungry apps. I guest the maximum video playback from 100% to 0% would be less than 4 hours.

And the saddest part is that the Apple Support is deliberately not acknowledging this issue.
