Mission Control with 2 screens

When using a second screen, the double tap closes all apps instead of laying them out the Mission Control way. Can that be corrected ?

The Mouse's menu indicates tap twice with 2 fingers to activate mission control, and the fact that I have connected a 2nd screen seems to interfere with that in many instances.

Oh, I don't have a Mouse, only a TrackPad. I forgot the mouse had its own gestures.

Do you have "Displays have separate Spaces" in Mission Control set on?

I think Mission Control has some behavior differences if you have it off so that the two displays are merged into one space.

A quick clarification: "tapping with two fingers" (ie two fingers simultaneously on the trackpad) is NOT usually understood as the same thing as "double tapping" (ie two taps in quick succession).

Maybe it is clear in your mind what you mean, but it is confusing for others like me...

I take it that you meant the former, i.e., "tapping with two fingers".

Where in settings did you set this to activate Mission Control?

I don't even a way to make that start Mission Control.

The options I see are "swipe up with three fingers" and "swipe up with four fingers":

Mine is set to "swipe up with four fingers" and it works regardless of which display the cursor is on (I work with two displays as well).

Sorry, at the moment I can't think of any idea, except maybe try one of these options - perhaps the tapping is being misinterpreted (again, I don't know how you set it up this way!).

HI.

THanks for jumping in. I mean tapping the mouse twice with 2 fingers, which normally moves the screens to Mission Control mode with all applications reduced and visible. When I do the double tapping with the mouse's pointer on my Mac' screen, the apps just disappear. When I do the double tapping on my second screen, I do get the Mission Control layout on both screens. It may not be constant, could be triggered by something being full screen, or a particular app being opened...?

I think you want the Mission Control thumbnails to zoom, is that correct?

I have never used that, so I am uncertain if it worked that way before. Tapping the spacebar with a thumbnail highlighted will zoom that screen in Mission Control. A single click on any window will make that window active.

Any idea why it does not zoom content but rather hide it when I double tap with 2 fingers with the mouse's pointer on my Mac's screen, whereas it wrks fine when I do the same with the mouse's pointer on the second screen ?

None at all. I don't have two screens to test. What, exactly, are you trying to zoom.

There is an Accessibility setting to toggle Zoom when you double-tap with three fingers.
