Apple Watch 7 Pausing on Workouts

The Apple Watch 7 keeps pausing during eliptical workouts. It's really frustrating. My arms are moving, my legs are moving, my heart rate is above 150. It's mind boggling. This is my 4th Apple watch and never had this issue. I still use my Apple watch SE and it works flawlessly. I tried all settings, adjusting the band and same outcome. This thing is a POS. Any ideas?

Hi mbolger732,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you may have the Auto-Pause feature enabled. This will pause certain workouts when you stop moving. From your iPhone, open Watch app and scroll down to Workout. Tap on Auto-Pause and turn off the button .

There's more details on this feature and adjusting your settings in Adjust the workout settings on Apple Watch - Apple Support.

Regards.

Hello mbolger732,

Do you happen to have any tattoos on your wrist below the watch? If so, does the same issue occur if you switch wrists temporarily (provided there are none on the other wrist, of course). You can change the watch orientation with these steps: Change language and orientation on Apple Watch - Apple Support.

If that is not applicable, or the issue persists, further assistance may be needed. We want to make sure you reach the right team for help with your watch, so we recommend that you contact Apple Support directly. Depending on your region, you may be able to reach them here: Get Support - Apple.

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities and have a wonderful day.
