Right side earphone won’t work

I have an iPhone 12 plus. Recently, one side of my earbuds stopped working. I tried other earphones and the same side wasn’t working. I tried adjusting the balance and still no noise from the right side. I also made sure Mono Audio was off. Any suggestions what to try next?

Hello DeeMacMc,

Thanks for asking about your iPhone and right side headphones not working. Thanks for also letting us know it's not just that one set of headphones.

Please ensure your balance is set in the middle. This article talks about this: Adjust the mono audio, balance, and phone noise cancellation settings on iPhone - Apple Support

  1. "Go to Settings  > Accessibility > Audio/Visual.
  2. Adjust any of the following:
    • Mono Audio: Turn on to combine the left and right channels to play the same content.
    • Balance: Drag the Left Right Stereo Balance slider.
    • Phone Noise Cancellation: Uses air pressure to reduce ambient background noise to help you hear better when you’re holding the receiver to your ear on phone calls in certain noisy environments. Phone noise cancellation is available and on by default on iPhone 12 and earlier, and can be turned off for your comfort."

If it is set to the middle, you will want to have your iPhone checked at an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Store.
