If you are saying that you cannot add your debit card as a payment method for Apple, there are several things that may be the problem. What happens when you try to add your debit card? Is there an error message? Not all cards work with Apple and it is never Apple rejecting a card. It is the card rejecting Apple. The first thing you should do is try calling the number on your debit card to see if they allow the card to be used as an Apple payment method. This discussion answer may be helpful:

As for getting a credit card, we would have to know what the error message was in order to guess how any of this would affect your ability to apply for a credit card.

Troubleshooting a Declined Method of Payment:

A. Add, then Delete.

You need at least one Method of Payment assigned to your account. This is because even free apps have their option for internal purchases. So, add the new method of payment, and then remove the one that is currently in there. Go Here: Add a payment method to your Apple ID - Apple Support

B. If Declined:

No Success?

C. Contact Apple Support:

For Financial Assistance, Contact Apple Store Support. You need to contact Apple Support Directly. This is a User-to-User forum. We are all volunteers. So, as you may suspect, no one here has access to that information — and that is a good thing, BTW. That’s why for Financial Assistance, you need to contact Apple Support. They’ll see what’s going on and will run you through the fix.

Apple Contact Info:

  • Contact Us - Choose Locations
  • Proceed from there, as necessary
  • Why the Wait: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)
