Magnetic interference or not?

Do magnetic cases interfere with apple pay? I’ve previously had both an iPhone X and an iPhone 11 and both started off great with apple pay. Then after a while I got an off brand magnetic removable wallet case and both times, within days, apple pay wouldn’t work whether it was inside the case or not

I’ve now got a new iPhone and want to get a similar case but I don’t want to lose the apple pay function as I hardly carry a wallet anymore
