Are we talking about the photos saved in the photo icon on my tablet or phone?

I understand that photo stream is shutting down on July 26. Does this include all of the photos taken with my tablet or iPhone under the icon on the device?

My Photo Stream has been an old syncing service to transfer photos between your devices. It used to upload copies the most recently added photos from the last 30 days into a cache in iCloud, where your other devices could download them from. It did not remove photos from your devices, just upload copies.

If you never used My Photo Stream, there is nothing to worry about. Is My Photo Stream enabled in the Settings > Your Name > iCloud > Photos ? If yes, look for a My Photo Stream album in Photos and check the photos you are seeing there. Save them to an album, if they are not yet in the Imports album.

All Photos you are currently seeing when you open Library view of photos with the Days, Months, Years will remain on your device, when My Photo Stream will be terminated.

Hey there Photochanges,

iCloud Photos will replace My Photo Stream(which already stopped adding photos three days ago), and if you already have iCloud Photos enabled across your devices, your photos are already syncing with iCloud Photos from both devices. We highly recommend reviewing the entire article above your post as it has more details about what to expect: Information about the My Photo Stream shutdown

If you see photos in My Photo Stream that aren't in your Photos library, the section 'Save photos currently in My Photo Stream' in the article above shows what to do next in order to save them.

Cheers!
