not quite understanding exactly what I need to do with my photos now that apple is stopping its photo stream. If all my photos are in the cloud, they should all be safe? Right? All I need is some photo program like Google, etc. to see my photo and access them from the cloud?? im confused

If you have been using My Photo Stream to sync your photos between your devices, you should download all photos that you are still having in My Photo Stream from My Photo Stream to one of your devices, if the are not yet on your device, before Juoy 26, when Apple will remove all My PHoot STraem data from their servers.

If you sync with iCloud and have your photos in your library, there is nothing else that you need to do. Your photos remain accessible on your Mac, iPhone, iPad, or at iCloud.com
Your originals are on your devices or at iCloud.com if you sync with iCloud. My Photo Stream is being discontinued. If you have devices that you do not sync using iCloud, you’ll need to connect those to your computer to download images.
I UNDERSTAND THAT THEY WILL STILL BE ACCESSIBLE, BUT WHERE WOULD I GO TO SEE THE ORIGIANALS?
TO ACCESS THEM FROM THE CLOUD. NOW I WOULD GO TO APPLE PHOTO STTREAM. WILL THAT GO AWAY. SO WHAT IS APPLE SAYING THEY WILL NOT DO ANYMORE
Helps somewhat. I am a novice. I do have iCloud Photos .
so if I have iCloud Photos, that means all my pictures are in the cloud. BUT, do I have to choose a program to hold any new pictures that I take. I understand that they will be in the cloud. But if I want to see a picture that I just took, where would I go on my iPad or iPhone. I used to go to apple photo streaming
I have a really old MacBook Pro which still has some photos in the Photostream album. To the right of these photos it says 'These photos were downloaded from Photo Stream'.
I haven't done anything recently, so I am assuming they downloaded to my MacBook back in 2017?
panicking now - the photos on my photo stream album (presumably to be deleted today) are not in my iCloud, nor are they in the regular library on my old MacBook??
