How to uninstall Apps@Work

I recently bought a new iphone 14 and I migrated my apps and data from the old iphone (12) to the new one.

One of the apps was one called Apps@Work

It seems that I am unable to delete the app. There is no profile under VPN&Profile Management

This seems like a major security issue. Could you advice please?

iPhone 14, iOS 16

The work accounts may have installed profiles that may be restricting the ability to delete certain apps.

You would need to consult with your works IT department for that, or remove said work accounts from the iPhone.

Not sure what you mean by "there is an app with higher privileges than the main user". The apps are installed with privileges form the main and only user. There cannot be any apps with more privileges than that. This is not a computer. It's an iPhone, which restricted access to system privileges.

As I said above, if there's something preventing the deletion of the App, only the work IT department can resolve it.

You have to remove the work account as its their profile that keeps it form being deleted. You may also need to see if there's a profile in Settings ➜ General ➜ VPN and Device Management, and see if you can delete it, then attempt to delete the app again.

The next time this happens, go to your Office IT department before you leave the job so they can help you remove the App.

What happens when you try to uninstall it exactly?

Do you not get the Remove App option?

Do you have Delete apps restricted in Settings ➜ Screen Time ➜ Content & Privacy Restrictions ➜ iTunes & App Store purchases ➜ Deleting Apps?

Why would it be a security issue to not be able to delete apps? How is your security impacted by that?

I have up and did a fresh install from scratch

beat in mind that these enterprise device management apps are totally crap

same goes for zamf for MacBooks

complete and utter bs

In my opinion, apple is also responsible; you are trying to setup a new phone and expired policies that the user has no right to delete are transferred ??

I have done what you said but nothing works

I migrated data from a phone that was associated to work accounts and then some of the account privileges were migrated without me being able to control that

with a single Apple ID in the new iPhone it seems that there is an app with higher privileges than the main user

sounds dodgy

Hello Phil0124,

Thank you for your reply.

I do not work there anymore hence they have no obligation to help me; besides this does not concern a company equipment.

Let me repeat; there is an app called Apps@Work that is installed in my personal iphone and it is impossible to be removed. This means that the main and only user (i.e. myself) is not able to remove the app. Apple told me to make a fresh setup for the new device manually.. Perhaps the iphone migration should take into account apps and profiles that are not associated to the current Apple ID??

Thanks

I asked my IT person and they were unable to remove the app. We have tried reinstalling the profile and removing it and it doesn't work. My phone shows no profiles are installed. This seems to be an error in the iPhone software not allowing me to delete the app and is not recognizing the profile was uninstalled. Are there any other ways other than restoring my phone?
