How do you turn off two authentication

If you turned it on less than 14 days ago, then use the email sent to you when you first turned it on, and click on the link there to turn it off.

If it's been more than 14 days since it was turned on, or this is an Apple ID of recent creation, it cannot be turned off.

With that said, 2-Factor Authentication, should be transparent in normal usage. You should only encounter it, if you are logging in to a new device, or logging in to an Apple website from an untrusted device or web browser.

To turn off two-factor authentication on your iPhone 8 Plus running iOS 14 or later, follow these steps:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

2. Scroll down and tap on your Apple ID, which is located at the top of the Settings menu.

3. Tap on "Password & Security."

4. You may need to authenticate with your device passcode or use Face ID/Touch ID to access the "Password & Security" settings.

5. Under the "Two-Factor Authentication" section, tap on "Turn Off Two-Factor Authentication."

6. A warning message will appear, informing you about the impact of turning off two-factor authentication. Read it carefully and make sure you understand the consequences.

7. If you still want to proceed, tap on "Continue."

8. You will be prompted to create new security questions. Answer the questions and tap on "Next."

9. After setting up the new security questions, two-factor authentication will be disabled on your device.

Please note that two-factor authentication enhances the security of your Apple ID by adding an extra layer of protection. It is generally recommended to keep it enabled for improved account security. Disabling it may make your account more vulnerable to unauthorized access.
