How to Import whatsapp chat history from Android to Iphone. Issues : Stucked at 40% / One minute Remaining [FIXED!!!]

I faced many errors when migrating my whatsapp chat history to Iphone. It would get stucked at 40% or it would remain on "one minute left" for hours. It was jsut impossible and frustating. Unfortunately Apple can´t do much since this is a whatsapp issue, and forget about META customer service.

I hope Apple pins this fix because besides this is a problem many people are facing and I couldnt find any real solutions.

Be aware that Internet is full of paid articles by 3rd party apps that will sell you their service. Even reddit has many users selling you this. It sounded like a scam to me and since I value my privacy and I am very stutborn,, I refused to pay or to leave my data to some company I have never heard of.

DISCLAIMER: This is a really tedious and very time consuming process however it did worked for me:

1- On move to IOS app only move whatsapp folder. Leave the rest for later.

2- Once the iphone starts, backup whatsapp chat history to Icloud account ( most likely you will need to pay to have enough space as whatsapp takes a lot of space and the free version is not enough).

3 - Restore the device to factory settings.

4- Start the process again, this time move the rest without whatsapp folder.

5- Use iphone device, download whatsapp chat history from icloud .

(IMPORTANT: be careful when uploading to icloud from whatsapp. If you choose to encrypt chat history, the password you type, you won be able to recover. If you choose to encryp it, make sure to write down the password or the 64 digit password. Otherwise EVERY INCORRECT LOG IN YOU WILL WAIT MORE AND MORE TIME BETWEEN LOGINS : I started with 30 minutes waiting time and the last one i had to wait 7 hours for whatsapp to allow me to introduce the password!!!!)

I am going to be an advocate to migrate to telegram from now on
