safari not working

*hey guys!!!*
*i have just recently downloaded safari 5 it worked fine for a few weeks. but after that when i tried opening it it said "safari.exe- Entry point not found." below it it was written "the procedure entry point JSvalueMakerFromJSONstring could not be located in the dynamic link library JavaScriptCore.dll"*
*i don't know what happened. i don't think i did anything to mess it up either. i even tried uninstalling and re-installing but i couldn't fix the problem. then i figured that the "JavaScriptCore.dll" file was corrupt so i also downloaded a new copy from "http://dllexedown.com/bbs/board.php?bo table=03_xp32&wrid=6105" but that didn't work as well. i gave this much information just to make you guys easy to figure out what the problem is. i really love using safari so i hope someone solves my problem fast*
*thank you!! :)*

Taken at face value, it looks like one of your Apple Application Support dlls got damaged, prince.

I'd try the procedure from the following post:

while safari was not working itunes was running fine... why was that??

🙂 If I'd known that, I might not have suggested swapping out the Apple Application Support ...

It's a good question. Just speculation, but a couple of things spring to mind.

Safari 5.0.1 needs a higher version of AAS (1.3.1) to run than iTunes 9.2.1.4 or 9.2.1.5 does (1.3.0). So it's possible that the JavaScriptCore.dll was damaged in a part that Safari needed, but your iTunes didn't.

More generally, perhaps the JavaScriptCore.dll was damaged in a place that iTunes just doesn't use. (On the other hand, I'm sure I've seen JavaScriptCore issues underly simultaneous Safari and QuickTime Player launch errors, and possibly iTunes as well.)

🙂 At any rate, I'm glad it's working for you again.
