Can't add Cel lBorders and Division Lines

How do I fill in the extra large cells (selected in Rows 51 and 52) to make them the same as the rest of the sheet so that it's all gridded? Thanks.

When you merge cells as you've done here, the merged cells act as a single cell, and that cell's boundaries are shown in the table, the address of the cell is the address of the top left cell of the group that was merged to form the large cell.

Any formatting applied to the merged cell, including cell borders, applies to that whole cell, not to the individual cells that were merged to create it.

If you want the whole Table to be 'gridded', you'll need to avoid merging cells, or place an independent grid, scaled and positioned to match the pre-merge positions of the pre-merge cells. Any changes in scale of the table would then require an adjustment to the independent grid—not the most enjoyable task.

Ah, my original longer reply to Barry didn't post and I lost it trying to repost it. I mentioned I had another sheet (with columns A and B) and the merge was greyed out (pls see screenshot "b").

It looks like A and B are both Header columns (when I click on them) but I can't merge two cells further down in these two columns: The second image has both cells selected although you can't see that. The aim was to be able to write a longer instruction about "Change Width" that would need two cells joined to fit the text in.
