Question

Calling on MacBook doesn't work

When people call my phone and I answer on my MacBook I can never hear them and they can't hear me. I can answer the calls and decline them but I can't talk to them or hear them through my MacBook. Does anyone have any solutions to this?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 13.4

Hi TheOriginalPatricio,

For help with your MacBook Pro microphone not working, we'd recommend walking through the following steps:

Update your macOS to the latest version, 13.4.1: Update macOS on Mac
Make sure there are no accessories (Bluetooth or otherwise) connected that could be interfering with the microphone input.
Check your Sound settings.

Open System Settings > Sound.
Tap the Input tab.
Make sure the MacBook Pro microphone shows and is selected.
Make volume adjustments as needed.

If you don't see your MacBook Pro microphone listed to select at all, there may be a deeper issue. You can run an Apple Diagnostics to test the hardware on your Mac and identify any potential hardware issues.
