My iPhone 8 will not backup. I have bought more data than needed but it will not backup

Plug in your phone. Make sure it is above 50% charge. Make sure it has a good, fast Wi-Fi connection. Go to Settings/[your name]/iCloud and note how much storage is available.
Then tap iCloud Backup and tap Back Up Now. Watch what happens.
What happens when you try to back up, and how exactly are you going about it? What steps are you using?
What is the message you see when it won’t back up?
Are you using VPN.
Going into iCloud backup and selecting backup now or allowing the backup to try at night. Either will not backup the iojone.
iCloud backup could not be completed. Backup will occur later when connected to Wi-Fi and power.
