Xfinity Mobile eSIM “Waiting for activation”

I’m currently in Poland 🇵🇱 and I wanted get eSIM. So I pressed the button in my cellular settings labeled “Covert to eSIM” and Now I had eSIM so I took the physical SIM out and put it in a Cabinet. Then I checked the iMessage and FaceTime settings and it always had text under the button “Waiting for activation” and it was still there after days. I have cellular data turned off because I don’t want to pay data here in Poland (it’s 0.15 per mb) and I brought a prepaid cellular package to put in a other phone to call my friends in Poland and 1500 Gb of data was included, So I turned the hotspot on, on that phone and I have a wifi hotspot connection, and after the eSIM iMessage thing still had the activation error. Which while I was setting up the eSIM it stated it was gonna be activating in the background but it’s already been days, So I deleted the eSIM and then downloaded it again from the Xfinity Mobile app, same problem still and it’s currently happening, Do I have wait till I get back to USA for it to be activated or what should I do, I can’t use the physical sim anymore because it’s turned into a eSIM and when I put it in the phone it’s deactivated. Verification codes still get sent to my phone and messages but I can’t reply to anything with my number like if text “STOP” to a advertisement it’s not delivered. I could wait still I get back to USA but I just want to know if my number will work or not, Thank you

Hey iPhoneDavid11,

Thank you for those additional details!

You mentioned not being able to send out SMS as well as having the "Waiting for activation" issue with iMessage and FaceTime. These two things are likely related.

If you haven't already, we recommend working through the steps in the following support article: If you can’t turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support

If you're still experiencing the issue with SMS, reach out to your carrier directly to confirm that your prepaid plan has a balance and that SMS is active for your account.

Take care.

Hey there and welcome to Apple Support Communities iPhoneDavid11,

We can certainly understand your concern and are here to help.

We recommend checking out these steps for more information on troubleshooting activation issues with your device.

"If you can't activate your iPhone or iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular)

If your iPhone or iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular) can't be activated or an alert says the activation server is unavailable or the SIM card is unsupported, learn what to do.

Before you begin

Follow these steps

  1. Restart your iPhone or iPad.
  2. If you're using a cellular-data connection, connect to a reliable Wi-Fi network instead.
  3. If you get an error message on your iPhone or iPad that says the activation server is temporarily unavailable or cannot be reached when trying to activate, wait a few minutes, then repeat the previous steps.

If you still can't activate your iPhone or iPad, try again using your computer instead:

  1. Make sure that you have the latest version of macOS or the latest version of iTunes.
  2. Check that your computer has an internet connection.
  3. With the cable that came with your iPhone or iPad, connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer. Locate your device on your computer.
  4. Wait while your computer detects and activates your iPhone or iPad:
    • If an alert appears that says "Set up as New" or "Restore from Backup," it means your iPhone or iPad is activated.
    • If you get an error message on your computer that says that the SIM card isn't compatible or is invalid, contact your carrier.
    • If you get an error message that says the "activation information was invalid" or "activation information could not be obtained from the device," use recovery mode to restore your iPhone or iPad.

If you still can't activate your iPhone or iPad, contact Apple Support. "

These steps will help ensure your device is working with ease and can fix common issues like the ones you’re experiencing.

Kindest regards!

This helped me understand what the activation is, But I don’t know if it’s activated or not (it’s like both at the same time) I can call people from the my number and I receive text messages from it. But my iMessage from my number is disabled. So if someone in USA texts me on iMessage from my number, I don’t receive it and i have to text them through my Apple ID email, Or for example one of my friends texted me Happy Fourth of July to my number with SMS but I couldn’t reply to him. But iMessage in my number I can’t receive or message but SMS receives but I can’t reply, FaceTime does not work at all. Calling Work (for some reason) and I don’t know what to do or what will happen with my number.
