Remove payment

When I try to remove a Mastercard is says failed. I do not have that card anymore. How do I remove it?

iPhone 13, iOS 16

It seems like you will have to add the new payment method first, and then you should be able to remove the old one. See here for more details: If you need to change or update your Apple ID payment method - Apple Support.

Hello ~ Have you tried add another card that is active and then remove the current card.

I have a credit from an Apple Card, when I added the credit card, I wasn’t able to use it. But now I can’t remove it to use the apple gift card for purchases.

I added the apple gift card for $25 I cannot use it because it keeps pulling the Mastercard. When I hit remove it says failed.
