My Macbook M1 pro is suddenly displaying solid multicolored lines around the right side and flickering multicolored lines at the bottom of the screen. How can I fix it?

Hey, christenlifromwashington,

I can see you are having an issues with your MacBook Pro (2017) flickering. This seems to be an issue with the display/screen cable being damaged or pinched inside the laptop. It is pretty normal for display cables inside all notebook and laptop computer to wear out from all of the opening and closing we do under normal operation. They can also break however due to drops and other accidental physical damage too. Regardless this is a hardware issue and thus boils it down to two option. If this wasn’t from a drop or accidental damage and you still happen to be covered under warranty. You can see if Apple will repair it under that warranty there is however not guarantee. If you have AppleCare+ on that MacBook Pro go that route it will be much easier and faster. If you don’t have either option available to you then will unfortunately you will have to pay for the repair out of pocket or purchase a new MacBook Pro. You could also look around at other options for repair at local shops around your area but mileage may vary and only AASP (Apple Authorized Service Providers) or Apple Store can guarantee genuine parts and the guarantee that your warranty if you in fact do still have one is still valid post repair. It is best to start a repair for the Apple Support app on the iPhone or iPad if your have one otherwise from another device at support.apple.com make sure to sign in with your Apple ID to make sure they get your correct device info for the repair. I’m sorry to hear that your screen is having these issues. Heaven knows how many times I have had similar issues.

Best of luck to ya,

Aaron
