Why do my AirPods randomly stop playing Audible? I Can see the book is continuing to play even though there is no sound and my AirPods remain paired. I Can hear the book if I change output to phone vs AirPods. I’ve “forgotten device” and repaired bluetooth and that didn’t work. I’ve also deleted and reinstalled the audible app with no success. It’s very frustrating!

If the sound is not playing as expected, start by ensuring that your iOS is fully updated. Updates can often contain fixes. Update your iPhone or iPad

We'll be glad to help out. You mention this only happening with Audible. If it doesn't happen at all with other applications, and solely happens with Audible, that would indicate it's an issue with Audible itself causing this to happen.

It is actually happening with Apple Music and other apps. It turns out the sound only works with phone!
