MacBook Pro M2 Pro 14-inch, 2023 - Battery life

Hi all,

I just bought my the latest MacBook Pro M2 Pro 14-inch, 2023. I have been browsing the laptop and using it for browsing the internet, but my battery is now at 30% though I only used it for 5 hours. Please find the screen capture of my activity. Can you share with me if this is normal? I have another Pro M1 13-inch, 2021 but I feel like that one lasted longer though I have been using it for two years.

Please share some reviews if this is normal

This may not be abnormal because many things can contribute to the rapid depletion of the battery charge; things like screen brightness, number of open & active browser tabs and applications, etc.

30% in 5 hours is not bad. That extends to something like 16+ hours to get to 0%. A 16 hour usage run time is actually quite good

I believe OP's concern was related to Apple's boast of 11 hrs of wireless web browsing and 17 hrs of video playback.

I have stopped believing in Apple's battery metrics since I got my first Mac in 2012. They're just marketing BS.

There is nothing to report. If you are not happy with the battery usage, plug in the computer.

I am asking people's opinions since every blog and article has done a battery test, and they are getting at least 14 hours on the new MacBook Pro M2 14-inch.

It's easy to just plug in the charger, fisherman bob. Thanks for your opinion.

I use my computer plugged in all the time unless I'm temporarily working at a remote site that does not have power handy. I have never had battery issues in the many years I've been computing. I guess I'm having difficulty understanding your concern. Sorry about that.

i have also purchest the same modle and im having even worse battery life and need help also, i can drain from 100% to 0 in just under 5 hours watching netflix at about 60% brightness, no were near the 18 hours possible, i am finding myself having to constantly plug it in, and under heavy load i can go from 100% to 0 in about 1.5 hours :).
