Where the heck is the charger for my new Apple Watch?
I just got an Apple watch and there's no charger. What gives?

Please be aware the description "charger" is open to confusion. It might refer to the mains adaptor, the connecting cable, or the charging control circuits which are actually inside your Apple Watch.
Your new Apple Watch (Series 8?) should have been supplied with a magnetic charging puck which has a USB-C connector to plug into the mains adaptor. The mains adaptor itself is not supplied, because most users already have one for their iPhone or similar devices and there is pressure to reduce the worldwide surplus charger mountain.
If you had an earlier model of Apple Watch you might also have the older version of charging puck with a USB-A connector. This is also compatible with current watches but it does not charge as fast as the later version.

Or you can get a 3rd party USB-C charger.
Or plug the charging puck into a laptop with USB-C ports.
Or use your Mac charger.
Or get an inexpensive USB-C to USB-A adapter and use one of the dozens of USB-A charging bricks sitting in the bottom of your junk drawer.
You can thank government initiatives to reduce eWaste, such as the European Union, dictating things like not including changes, switching to USB-C connectors out-dating all our existing charging bricks, and cables, etc…
To be fair, you are indeed a rarity if you DON’T have a drawer full of older USB power adaptors.
Packaging adaptors with EVERY new device IS a waste of resources; and something Apple stopped doing a few years ago.
Suggest an Apple 20w USB-C adaptor which should meet all of your needs for the foreseeable future.
There isn't one, just use the one you have for your iPhone
Thanks for the help.
Sad that a 3 trillion dollar company can’t afford chargers. In the immortal works of Doris Day. Que Sara Sara
Thank you for the info. When I go looking for a charger I’ll keep that in mind.
