Subscription Charges

Is there a setting that would give me a notification and option to cancel before being charged for a subscription? In my situation it was an app that I thought was free but was actually a free trial followed by a monthly charge if not canceled before the end of the trial period. I read the app’s description thoroughly after this and did see that it did mention this but that information was pretty far down and not in the brief summary at the top.

iPhone 11, iOS 16

There isn no setting that I know of that will give you a notification. Also, unfortunately it seems to be common. Every trial I'm aware of will automatically convert to a paid subscription if not cancelled.

You may be able to get a refund. There is an Apple article with information about requesting refunds. Click on the following link: Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple - Apple Support
