  • Does anyone know exactly how good the software and security’s are on these latest iPhones? And are Abby of the updates actually needed or not?

Hello legier,

One of the best ways to stay secure and keep your information safe is by keeping your device up to date. Currently that is iOS 16.5.1. Apple is always patching vulnerabilities in it's software and if you fall behind you're likely to fall victim to attacks more easily then someone on the most up to date version. This goes for any software (Apple or not)!

Now, does that make your device invincible? No, but it makes it that much harder for attackers.

I would always advise staying up to date and installing any of the security patches Apple throws your way.

There are a ton of other ways to make your iPhone more secure if you're interested, but to answer your question, YES the software and security updates are very good.
