To attempt to find lost or stolen AirPods, the following must be true:

  • Find My iPhone must have been enabled BEFORE they were lost or stolen.
  • The AirPods are within range of your devices (iOS or macOS). Alternatively, they would need to be near any Apple device that the user has enabled "Find My Network" on.
  • They are not in their charging case.
  • They are still charged.
  • The AirPods have not been reset.

... and if any of these are true, your only alternate method is to go physically looking for them.
