Getting music on my iPhone onto my Mac

I've got a lot of music on my iPhone - previously synched to a Dell Windows laptop. Want to transfer it to my new MacBook 13 - but have not discovered how to do it. When I select synch it warns me I will synch only what's on the Mac - and not all the music and none of the playlists are on the Mac.

Windows, Windows 10

Sync is one way. Computer to iPhone. There is no direct way to extract music from an iPhone.

You should always keep a backup of your music, and never rely exclusive on your iPhone as the source of your music.

What happened to the Dell? And the music it held? If you have access to it, you should transfer the music form there to the Mac.

If you don't have access to the Dell PC, then see the following link for how to extract the music and recreate the iTunes library on the Mac.
