An Apple Account is often referred to as an Apple ID. It is the sign in requirements to use Apples services such as this discussion forum. See more at: https://appleid.apple.com/faq

id.apple sounds to me like an incomplete server reference such as to https://appleid.apple.com/

which is a place where you can go to see your Apple account's online presentation with a browser.
