With the latest upgrade to iPadOS 16.5.1, I’m finding a lot of problems. I cannot access Keychain at all. Even asking a question in the community returns errors, and Yes I’m logged in. I could not use iMessage for six days, then suddenly it was restored. Is there an explanation? A solution would be nicer.
If you are experiencing any difficulties subsequent to a system software update, perform a forced-restart of your iPad - as this will often clear an isolated software issue:
Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)
If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:
Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)
Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
Thanks for the suggestion! I tried but could not get it to work; however in the meantime, I realized that "Keychain" on the iPad is now labelled "Passwords," so I was able to access the passwords that way. But I'll keep this in mind they next time they change around the UI!
Yes - your Passwords are one element of your Keychain.
The Keychain is the encrypted secure storage within which your Apple account Passwords, WiFi & Connection credentials, biometric credentials (TouchID and FaceID) and other security-related information are stored.
