Soft hyphen

I evoked the window by control clicking on the word, just didn't highlight it. Highlighting it only gives me the option to never Hyphenate. I still can't find Allow.

Here's the actual problem:

I could have hyphenated the word after being sure everything else was finished and not later rearrange something that would cause a reflow of the text and leave that word on one line with a hyphen in it, but I'm thinking of future instances where I might not want to hyphenate the whole document but just touch up a word or two or three and not have to worry about missing a bad instance later when a reflow might occur.

AppleWorks never did get all the credit it deserved. I’ll be devastated if I ever lose use of my data base.

It appears that my search for a workable soft hyphen is not going to bear fruit. It would be helpful just to have the option to hyphenate or not by individual text boxes, but the option seems to be document-wide.

I will make my suggestions to Apple and hope for something in Pages’ next iteration. Thanks for taking the time.

Well, I just made a small discovery. If I start the document with hyphenation on, I can highlight all the text in a given text box and in Text > More, check "Remove hyphenation for paragraph" and it does so for the whole box.

Not exactly what I wanted, but it’s something. I’m don’t know how useful this will be to me, though.

It seems the answer is there is no soft hyphen in Pages.
