Swipe to the left on the email in the preview pane on the left to get the delete button or you can delete the email in one motion by swiping far enough to the left.

If you want to delete multiple emails, tap Edit in the upper right corner of the preview pane and select the emails you want to delete and then tap on Trash at the bottom.
