If your debit card is displaying an error message stating that the expiration date doesn't match, here are a few steps you can take to resolve the issue:

  1. Double-check the expiration date: Ensure that you have entered the correct expiration date for your debit card. It is typically printed on the front or back of the card.
  2. Check for any typos: Mistyping the expiration date is a common error. Make sure you haven't accidentally entered the wrong digits or switched the month and year.
  3. Verify the card's validity: Confirm that your debit card is still valid and has not expired. If it has expired, you will need to contact your bank or card issuer to obtain a new card.
  4. Clean the card and card reader: Sometimes, dirt or debris on the card or in the card reader can cause errors. Gently clean both the card and the card reader, then try inserting the card again.
  5. Try a different payment method: If the issue persists, you can attempt using a different payment method, such as another debit card, a credit card, or cash, depending on the available options.
  6. Contact your bank or card issuer: If none of the above steps resolve the problem, it is recommended to contact your bank or card issuer directly. They can provide further assistance, verify the card's details, and troubleshoot any potential issues with your debit card.

Remember to exercise caution when sharing card details and ensure that you are using a secure payment system or device when making transactions.

Before copying and pasting a response, check it to make sure it actually makes sense. Apple Pay doesn’t use the physical card so how would cleaning a card or card reader help?
