Update to Ventura 13.4.1 if you haven't already.
If you are using Apple's Preview, it won't process any PDF Acrobat JavaScript (AcroJS) that the form designer may have used in building those check box form fields. Do you see the same behavior when opening that PDF in the free, current Adobe Acrobat Reader DC that does recognize AcroJS?

Thanks for trying to help. I was able to resolve the problem by going to "settings", "accessibility", "display". By changing the contrast as well as working with the tint, I was able to solve the above problem plus some others like "turning off the printer color button going to white and not visible". I still have to tweak the tint or colors but everything is much clearer. Using "appearance" and "accessibility" under setting, I should be fine. Thanks again.
Could it have something to do with any browser extensions you have installed disrupting that checkbox appearance issue? JavaScript enabled? Problem consistent with a different browser?
Snag Firefox 14.0.2 (current as of this post) and try the website in it to see if it behaves as you expect.
I'm just trying to fill out online forms for automobile registration, etc. The checkboxes or fill in areas show up once you click on the appropriate spot but determining where they are located requires clicking with the arrow in different spots. This is a problem unique to the MacBook. No problem on the iPad.
No. New computer. I haven't installed anything. I thought it might have something to do with the setting but I can't find any change that helps.
