Contacts not recognised

Since the last update my phone has created spaces in my contacts phone numbers making them unrecognisable. So when I receive a call its just giving me a number not the name . I have tried removing the number and re entering it but it keeps putting the gaps in. Does anyone know how to easily fix this ? It's an iPhone 14.

Thanks in advance

Hey Lynb-s,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. To help narrow this down, check to see if you have Dial Assist turned on as it can format the phone numbers. Here's how to check: Make a call on iPhone - Apple Support

Change your outgoing call settings

1. Go to Settings  > Phone.
2. Do any of the following:
* Turn on Show My Caller ID: (GSM) Your phone number is shown in My Number. For FaceTime calls, your phone number is displayed even if caller ID is turned off.

* Turn on Dial Assist for international calls: (GSM) When Dial Assist is turned on, iPhone automatically adds the correct international or local prefix when you call your contacts and favorites.

For information about making international calls (including rates and other charges that may apply), contact your carrier.

Keep us posted.

Take care!
