Mac OSX Service "Encode Selected Video Files" Loses Metadata

If I use my Mac Finder extension "Encode Selected Video Files" to re-encode my exported videos from Photos (taken with an iPhone), the service loses the date/time and location information for the video. Is there a way to retain this important information? I'm trying to re-encode a bunch of 4K videos taken on the iPhone to much smaller HD videos, but I don't want to have to re-do all the metadata like longitude and latitude and the date / time info. At the moment all videos re-encoded this way end up as the current date with no location info.

I have found an answer - using QuickTime Player allows export to lower resolution 1080p. It also retains the original metadata! PERFECT!
