How do you get your Watch to stop authenticating all day long?
My watch keeps authenticating, asking me to log in. But it doesn’t tell me what to log into or what I’m supposed to do. Help!

This was driving me nuts too. What finally worked: 1) look at watch to determine which app(s) have the “authenticating” error (click watch’s side button to see all apps open on watch), for me it was Audible; 2) on iPhone, open the Watch app, and go to the app(s) found in step1: 3) toggle off and on again. I hope this works for you all too!
Just tried this - my Audible was the issue as well - thank you!!!
My watch started saying Authenticating Please ensure you are logged in on your paired phone. I removed Audible from my installed watch apps and it went away.
I thought this might be related to Microsoft w/drawal, too, but that was to be effective in February. Many users are just now having problems since July.
Hey y’all! I looked at the watch app and found automatic login from iPhone was turned off. Flipped the setting back last night and it has been working fine since.
where would I the automatic login? Thanks!
Where exactly did you find the setting in the watch app for automatic login?
Same thing. MODEL 2472 VERSION 9.5.2
Same continous AUTHENTICATING message.
Yeah that’s not it. Just started a few days ago. Actually doesn’t ask me to log in to anything just says it’s authenticating with a times spinning and spinning. Doesn’t stop till I interrupt it.
I’ll try that thanks. I do have audible on there but don’t use it via the watch just via now playing.
Daniaell - I don’t use Audible on my watch either but that was the app that was trying to authenticate. I’d follow what StrykerPDX says. It worked for me!
Ignore that last bit, that, Okta Verify just withdrew the Apple Watch companion app June 2023.
It had to be a third party app, Watch OS doesn't use words like that.
Yes ! Thank you. It was Audible for me too!
me too.
Watch SE keeps telling me: Authenticating: please ensure you are logged in on your paired phone.
