Apple14 new phone

I can receive gifs and links from my Mom, but not a regular text. She can get all of my messages, but I don’t see her responses. I’ve spent 2 hours the first time @ the store trying to fix this issue, then 4 hours the next day, and 6 hours the last day trying to fix this. The factory reset, they reconfigured the network settings, they disabled my first new I phone and gave me another new one from the box. Nothing has been fixed. It’s not a carrier issue, but an Apple issue. How can I fix this?

To activate iMessage and FaceTime using your Phone number

First, check to know whether you have an SMS plan enabled at least for One SMS*** with your carrier. Contact your Carrier (Cellular Service Provider) the agency that issued the SIM to you

If your iPhone is used with a carrier not found in the wireless carrier articles, make sure you can send and receive international SMS. (One SMS*** Only)

If you can't turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime - Apple ...

*** You may not have an SMS plan enabled by your carrier for the SIM/eSIM that you use on your device. Apple Inc does not provide SMS services.
