How to create 800 x 800 pixcel photos ffrom iPhone photo

Can someone provide a "fool proof" way to create a 800 x 800 pixel photo for e-commerce use from an iPhone photo on the mac?

On the Mac open the iPhone photo in Photos, after you transferred it to your Mac, for example with iCloud Photos or downloading it from the iPhone

  • If the photo is not square, crop it to square with the Crop tool.
  • Then use the command "File > Export > Export ... photo".
  • In the export dialog set the size to "Custom" and select a width of 800.
