I added but now want to delete the plant identification app I thought it was a one time NOT Subscription

Step 2: Delete the app from your phone: Delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

If you do not complete Step 1, you will continue to be charged for the app.

Do you mean you want to delete the app? If you do that and do not cancel the app, you will still be charged for the subscription, even if the app is no longer on your phone.
